Position Overview

The Bookkeeper will work with the team to perform daily bookkeeping tasks, posting COGS and payroll, creating quarterly financial reports, and assisting with regular audits for outside CPA firm. This is a hands-on role and the ideal candidate will have experience in construction or specialty contracting, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage accounts payable and receivable

  • Process payroll and maintain payroll records

  • Reconcile bank statements and manage expense reporting

  • Assist with financial reporting and work with external accountants as needed

  • Maintain organized filing systems (digital and physical)

  • Provide bookkeeping support to the executive team and project managers

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in bookkeeping, and office administration (3+ years preferred)

  • Experience in the construction or electrical contracting industry is a strong plus

  • Familiarity with QuickBooks or similar accounting software

  • Experience with industry standard ERP tools

  • Knowledge of third-party payroll systems and best practices

  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to work independently and handle multiple priorities

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or Bachelor’s Degree in

  • Finance or a related field preferred

  • Clean driving record and valid CA Driver’s License

  • Must pass background check, subject to applicable laws

Work Environment:

  • Office environment, temperature-controlled

  • Work Location: Stockton, CA, with occasional visits to local job sites

  • Physical demands: Repetitive movement of hands and fingers, ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

  • Typing and/or writing, talking and hearing

  • Travel required: none
